Just a quick update on PLUS, the new single will be available very very soon, Mrs T on SizeNet Showcase will keep track of availability so do keep an eye out for any more news.

In the mean time, it seems that two of the band will be taking part in filming for a BBC3 TV programme. The PR agency has been in contact and said...

Two of the band are going to be involved in a BBC 3 studio debate called Miss REAL World which is being shot tomorrow. Hannah Lee and Kate Newnes will be two of 20 guests on the panel including cosmetic surgeons, feminists, WAGS, make-up artists, models and beauty editors.

No date has been given for transmission but I will let you know as soon as I know.

Men, do you seek plus size women for dates?

Journalist Isla Harvey from Barcroft Media UK is looking to get in contact with men who seek out larger women for dates or more. She is planning a positive article for possibly a women's magazine, she said in her email to me that...

I am writing an article about men who have a preference for large women. Men who actively seek to date women over size 20 or who have chosen to marry a large woman and are very happy with the relationship.

I wish to show that many men find large girls attractive and that dieting and weight neurosis isn't the road to happiness.

I have spoken to Isla by phone and her aims seem genuine, so if you are interested then please contact her direct via her email address; isla@barcroftmedia.com

Big Fun from the new girl group Plus

This week will see the release of the first single from 'Plus', Britain's first real girl band. The group is a challenge to the UK music industry where most female singers are below size 12. The plus sized are mostly thought of as being unmarketable. The new group featuring, Stacey-Lee Cuddy, Rachel Faulkner, Shirley Slaymaker, Kate Newnes and Hannah Lee are all at least size 16.

Spokesman Kizzi Nkwocha, former publicist for the Bay City Rollers, said:

“Plus’s new single will symbolize the beginning of change for the music industry. It will be the song that opens the door to thousands of performers who were turned away in the past because of their size.”

“The average woman in Britain is a size 16 yet the music industry is obsessed with the idea that a singer has to be a stick insect in order to be marketable. We think that’s wrong, most of the people in this country think that’s wrong and, after Big Fun hits Number One, the music industry will have to admit they’re wrong. ”

The single is called Big Fun and will be available from online music stores such as iTunes and Napster.
