BBC 3 asking, want a world trip looking at food and culture?

Lucy Malins from BBC 3 has been in contact, she is working on a new program and is looking for volunteers. She is looking for young people to jaunt around the world looking at how culture effects eating. If you are interested then please contact her direct using the details below.

BBC Three is looking for young people between the ages of 18-28 to travel around the world for a new series that looks at eating culture, lifestyle and health issues in different countries.

Are you someone who lives on a diet of junk food and takeaways?

Have you struggled to lose weight and adopt a healthier lifestyle?

Or do you believe that big is beautiful and there's too much pressure to conform?

Perhaps you've been discriminated against because of your size?

If you've answered ‘yes' to any of these questions, or just want to find out more for yourself or a friend, please call Lucy in confidence on 020 800 83863 or email lucy.malins@bbc.co.uk

Young people sort for new TV program on plus size models

I have been contacted by a TV development producer who is looking for young people for a new TV program. Please contact them direct using the email below. Seems interesting as this is an area seldom explored.

North One Television, a BAFTA and RTS award winning production company who specialise in intelligent, innovative, sensitive and compelling documentaries are developing a brand new documentary for UK Television and looking for the key contributor in the documentary.
We are looking for a teenager size 18+ who is looking to be a plus size model or has ambitions to pursue a career in showbiz.
We would film the life of our teenager as they potentially meet model agents and audition for modelling jobs as well as at home with their family and at school (where feasible) and would also hope to follow them entering a plus size teen beauty pageant in the US.
All interested girls aged 13-19 years can get in touch at development@northonetv.com or phone Tel: 020 7502 5643.

Petition to end size discrimination in the UK

Leah Bartczak has dropped me a line telling me she has started a petition on the Number 10 website for petitions. Her aim is to get the Government to bring in an 'anti size discrimination' law. It takes only a few minutes to add your name and I would encourage you to do the same.

Leah says...

I have started a petition regarding anti size discrimination in the UK. If you know anyone in the UK who you think would like to sign this please could you pass on the url?

http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/AllSizes/

Evidence shows that underweight and overweight people are subject to discrimination in many areas including employment, education, healthcare and housing. Weight and size discrimination is frequently viewed as the last remaining acceptable form of discrimination and it needs to go!
